wild thing

Dazed and Confused December 2009: Wild at Heart
Abbey Lee Kershaw / Photographer: Daniel Jackson

Abbey Lee’s been everywhere lately, but who can argue when she fits the editorial concept this well? Tasked with embodying Maurice Sendak’s classic Where the Wild Things Are? and Spike Jonze’s film adaptation, her raw edge and beauty is unparalleled ( in Prada, Opening Ceremony and Burberry Prorsum no less).

eyes on edita

The always gorgeous Edita for YSL mascara. The bodacious Lithuanian will no doubt be cast in this year’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show but I think she should nab a beauty contract as well!

otherworldly

It’s often said that models look like aliens and this pic of Siri Tollerød isn’t dispelling that notion any. The effect is mostly due to the lighting, but she manages to look positively unearthly during a NYFW SS10 runway practice.

the trials and tribulations of lara stone

Vogue UK December 2009: Stone Age
Lara Stone / Photographer: Mario Testino

Lara Stone, notoriously tough and unapproachable, comes off very soft in this cover and ed for Vogue UK’s December issue. Call it an image rehab (in more ways than one), but we have been seeing the Dutch model interpreted in a gentler light rather than a smoking sexpot. Recall her embodiment of Gloria Vanderbilt in September’s Vogue Paris.

Inside the mag hails her as a game-changer a la Kate Moss and Lara’s got a revealing and super-candid interview about spending four months in rehab this year for alcoholism, her famous boobs, figure and attitude. Oh and pushing another model down “a few stairs.”Read the context of that and other surprising reveals here.
