Last night was the 2009 CFDA Awards, honoring the best and brightest American designers. Held at Lincoln Center, the Awards featured a presentation of models (Kasia Struss, Alyona Osmonova, Ali Stephens, Iekeline Stange, Alana Zimmer) wearing Womenswear Designer of the Year nominees Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, and Narciso Rodriguez. Rodarte ended up victorious this year with Calvin Klein and Band of Outsiders tying for menswear.
And the models who weren’t at work modeling the CFDA nominees’ creations, came out in force as well-attired guests of designers (Zac Posen, Yigal Azrouël, Michael Kors, Francisco Costa, Phillip Lim) and partied with the likes of Anna Wintour, Justin Timberlake, Bradley Cooper and Bruce Weber. Aside from the usual black and white dresses, another popular colour choice was bold red (Behati, Coco and Doutzen) and the still lingering metallics (Hana, Agyness and Heidi). Killing it in my book are Anja in a white Kaufman Franco, Hana in a futuristic Altuzarra and Coco in a print Michael Kors and on the failing end, Doutzen in a very red and very ruffled Zac Posen number.

To me the real heros were the models. In fancy and some in ridiculous outfits braving the steep and slippery steps in skyscraper heels.
Now lets get catty.Meow!
Alexander Wang thought he looked cutey cute i’m sure but to me he looked ridiculous in those bermudas. This was an important event celebrating his talent and he lacked respect somehow.Frankly his clothes are’nt all that great anyway.
Heidi you are sweet and your life seems perfect BUT you looked like a baked potatoe still in its tin foil!
Yigal Azruel…WTF!Did he run out of fabric for his pants or did he confuse that event with a Polo match.Yeeesh!
Suvi Kopenwhatever looked like she wore one of my Grandmother’s flowery Sunday dresses.Keep trying hun!
And as for Doutzen LOL… too much L’Oreal shampooing and colouring must have effected her brain.Where did she think she was?Someone please inform her that Tara in Gone With The Wind was ficticious!Meow!Hissss!Scratch!!!
On the bright side…Anya Rubik looked just divine didn’t she!Wow!Just a bracelet was all she needed as an accessory.Ditto Hana Soupukova sans bracelet!
Aggy looked…Aggy!I know she annoys a lot of people but I have a soft spot for her.
Who’s the guy next to Missy Rayder?Yummy!
I don’t recognise who’s that Angelina Jolie clone but she had a very interesting see thru dress.Looks like Marchesa.
Oh and Hanalore Knuts looked great too. Justin Giunta(award winner for accessories)next to her is GORGEOUS!If he isn’t gay I’d like to have some babies with him.Ahem.
Well Sarah it was fun scratching and hissing at your choice of pictures.I’ll now crawl back under my rock…

Hi Jean!
Thanks for the great catty comments haha, you’re pretty spot on with most of your observations!
Haha, Alexander Wang rocking shorts was a little odd to me, but I guess out of anyone he could pull it off? Still silly and not the best event to wear shorts tho.
I really didn’t like Aggy before, she annoyed me, but I’m starting not to mind her now! The Angelina Jolie lookalike is Lonneke Engel, she used to do a lot for Ralph Lauren.
Feel free to unleash more of your unvarnished comments, they’re hilarious, especially enjoyed this one: And as for Doutzen LOL… too much L’Oreal shampooing and colouring must have effected her brain.
