Valentino Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2009/10
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are fighting an uphill battle as the second designers to succeed Valentino. Their F/W couture collection satisfied more than their first, but still didn’t achieve a solid identity. There was a divergence from the Valentino of old however with the heavy use of lace, short hemlines and the lack of trademark red. There’s some optimism but I think most are adopting and wait and see approach with this design team. Check out the full collection here.
