ralph lauren heads east for fall 2011

Do I detect a Ralph Lauren foray into Asia? While Ralph usually looks for good old American inspiration, this collection takes Daisy Buchanan on a Far East opium bender. Bold reds, jade greens and dragon embroidery all add an Asian touch to a subdued arrangement of black, white and brown. Notably, the show was opened by Sui He, who was joined by other Asian models Jing Ma, Ming Xi, Liu Wen, Lily Zhi and Bruna Tenorio who is of Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian descent. A definite trend, see: Givenchy Couture Spring 2011, Vogue‘s Asia Major article from December 2010.

A fabulous collection! Loved everything especially the black cheongsam with lace details. No matter what continent he takes us to Ralph Lauren is always a class act. Chinoiserie can get tedious sometimes but not here. Lauren will have no problem conquering China.

So refined as always, feels fresh coming from RL, who most will certainly make a killing in China!
