At first, Lara Stone was thought to be the lone cover model, but they’ve been unveiling new covers daily, adding Daria Werbowy, Kristen McMenamy and Jeneil Williams to the Mert and Marcus-shot list. With 5 days to go before the issue lands in stores, 5 more covers?

September’s always an epic month for magazines being the most advertising-heavy and usually having the most impressive covers, models and eds. Being a magazine fiend, I definitely had to restrain myself from going overboard this month and think I did rather well! *pats self on back*
Here’s my rundown of the good, bad and somewhat ugly September magazines (this is in no way exhaustive of course)!
The Good
Want, need this magazine in my life! Now where can I find it in Vancouver?
An all-Natasha issue of Muse is gold in my books!
Natalie Portman gets the treatment for Interview and still looks pretty damn flawless.
Natalia V looks absolutely pristine and pastoral on the UK's version of Bazaar.
Like this cover miles better than Lara's Vogue Paris one!
The Mediocre
Vogue's September cover hits the safe middle ground as usual, no surprises or edgy cover model in Charlize!
Kate looks just alright on Vogue UK, a little tired unfortunately!
Can't say I'm a fan of the demure brunette Lara.
Really wanted the premiere issue of Love, but not all that stoked about this "youth" issue with 2 different covers, this one's with Alex Hartley and...
the other one has an up-the-nose shot of Sting's offspring Coco Sumner.
Even though Leighton Meester is shot by Terry Richardson, it looks like Bazaar just took a red carpet photo and fixed the background and we all know what happened the last time they did that... What the heck is going on at Bazaar?
This cover featuring Alana Zimmer somehow looks unfinished...
The Bad
Somehow Ash's sneering face next to Sasha just isn't doing it for me!
Lady Gaga gone day-glo or what she'd look like is she retired to South Beach right now, too much neon for my sensibilities!

The Lara Stone obsession isn’t quite over yet, she’s got fall campaigns for DSquared and Eres and most impressively, the August cover of W (score one for the models!). Last time she was on the cover of W, she had help from heavyweights Kate and Daria. But this time she’s flying solo, styled like Bardot and called an “it girl.” It’s pretty major and adds to her growing icon status.
While Lara Stone isn’t my absolute favorite model, I gotta admit there’s something oddly compelling about her. Whether it’s her gap-tooth, bleached brows, rampant smoking or don’t-give-a-shit attitude, she’s sorta likable. What do you think? Like her or hate her, do you think Lara’s reached iconic levels?
Bonus: I love this pic of her, kind of sums up her quirky appeal…
