leith clark for warby parker

While I’ve never fancied myself a Lula girl, I’ve always admired that aesthetic and the founder/super stylist Leith Clark (who hails from Ontario!). Leith extends her distinct vintage ’70s aesthetic to her second collection with Warby Parker. The collection pairs modern with vintage with girly touches such as filigree, a cat eye shape, and rose acetate. Even better, the collaboration supports Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation’s campaign that empowers girls to stand up for other girls around the globe by raising awareness and funds.

And as you may or may not know, I’m a glasses wearer and am so glad for some of the democratization of the industry with more affordable and stylish options. Warby Parker has definitely helped revolutionize the industry with a strong sense of social responsibility, and I’m raring to get my first pair next week on my trip to Toronto! Peep my top picks from the new Leith Clark for Warby Parker collection (shot by Vanina Sorrenti) below, and check out more here.

ghesquière official for louis vuitton

ghesquière official for louis vuitton

The rumours have swirled for months only to now finally be confirmed… former Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière is the new creative director for Louis Vuitton.

Who was LVMH trying to fool anyway with one of the worst kept secrets in fashion? There aren’t many seasoned designers out there with a proven track record and the critical acclaim to take on the multibillion dollar machine that is LV. Not to mention the storied and longstanding history of the brand. Certainly a daunting task but I’m quite excited for Ghesquière to finally have a new post and to see how he interprets the Vuitton heritage. After all, he revived Balenciaga and many of his design triumphs there still remain current and trendy today from shearling coats to motorcycle jackets/bags to florals, I’m expecting big things at LV!

my style: fall leather

Whistles leather jacket / Loft 82 sweater / Balenciaga bag / Topshop ankle boots

Don’t do a lot of personal style posts, but here’s a start! Today finally warranted me pulling out my Whistles Marlon quilted leather jacket for coffee and a movie downtown.

isabellmaranthmThis week Isabel Marant’s lookbook for her H&M collection hit the net and while I’m not completely persuaded to line up overnight for this one, I am seriously coveting the grey coats and casual tees…

Happy that Edita Vilkeviciute has finally scored a major cover — October’s Vogue Paris lensed by Mario Testino. Inside the main editorial also stars Anja Rubik in a sumptuous, French Riviera-set of images.

Lachlan Bailey keeps it simple showcasing new classics from Equipment, Current/Elliott, Rag & Bone and Helmut Lang. Nothing too groundbreaking but always nice to see one of my fave models Edita Vilkeviciute in Industrie Magazine!

First day of August means fall style is just around the corner – something I eagerly anticipate every year! Zara kicks off the fall countdown with the release of their 2013 ad campaign set on the streets of London (how I miss it so!)  with some covetable structured coats.  The main line campaign stars Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Juliane Gruner, Mijo Mihaljcic and Ashleigh Good cald in wool, pinstripes, lace and plaid. Counting down the days until cooler weather!
